I've said before that Candice Glover is too good for American Idol. I mean that I'd buy her CD right now, especially if she has tracks on it like her rendition of the Cure's "Lovesong." She slayed that song tonight on Ido, seeming to draw on Adele's version of the song but throwing in some Jill Scott flavor. All right now. Candice Glover rocked out on the Beatle's classic "Come Together." This young woman could cut a record now. She's got tremendous talent and poise. I may have misheard Mariah Carey on American Idol tonight when she was critiquing Amber Holcomb, but I thought Mariah said that she was not familiar with the Beatles's classic "She's Leaving Home." Stefano Langone won me over a few weeks ago on American Idol when he sang Smokie Norful's "I Need You Now." And when I say "he sang it" that's an understatement. He slayed it! So, I wasn't surprised at all when he won a wild card slot. He committed to this Norful gospel song like he grew up in a black Baptist church. According to Idol's site, Stefano admires Stevie Wonder.
